Thank You to Our Veterans

It's not too soon to start thinking about how you will thank your veteran! November is just around the corner and if you are looking for a unique way to thank him or her you needn't look any farther.  Tell that special soldier how proud you are 52 ways! There are tons of opportunities here to give thanks and show pride!

Here are some possible ideas:
  • Those who gave their all. All those who died protecting our freedoms, many buried on foreign soil. And all POWs and MIAs. We shall never forget.
  • A free press. We love them. We hate them. We curse them. We praise them. But where would we be without them?
  • The blues. Sad, sultry, soulful.
  • Andy Warhol. He made the ordinary extraordinary.
  • Starbucks. Keeping us alert and ready.
  • Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey. Still the greatest show on earth!
  • Big Sur and the entire California coast, from top to bottom.
  • Free public libraries. Learn, baby, learn!
  • Our system of higher education — especially our great public universities.
  • The legacy of Norman Rockwell. The man who showed us the best in ourselves.
  • Texas. Big. Bold. Proud. American.
  • Ferris wheels. From the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair till now, still enchanting.
  • The Kentucky Derby. The legendary run for the roses.
  • Mount Rushmore. Our history wrought mammoth.
  • The Smithsonian. Endlessly fascinating and free.

These memories are a keepsake that does more than sit on a shelf. Bring these cards down and play with them over and over - each time seeing those precious words - each time your loved soldier gets to reread how thankful you are.  A gift that keeps giving. Order your deck today!  You can find the cards at my Etsy page where you can customize your very own deck of poker playing cards.
